Our Mission

Blues = No Blues is run by Swerv — built from the ground up to keep the Delta blues alive and make sure the people who gave this music to the world never get forgotten. Clarksdale born, Greenville raised, Cleveland home.

The blues isn’t just music. It’s history, identity, and survival — a whole people’s experience pressed into twelve bars and passed down like a birthright.

The work traces the genealogy of the blues from Charlie Patton forward — following the thread from the Mississippi Delta through the players and recordings that defined American music. Son House, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf — their roots are Delta roots, and those roots run deep.

Blues = No Blues educates people about where this music actually came from: not a genre, but a place and a people. The Delta Underground newsletter, the books, the merch, the Bring It Home ad work — all of it funds coverage of working Mississippi blues musicians and keeps the culture visible.
